A brand-new programme, the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management, will be launched at Akademia in early 2026 with great excitement. This dynamic programme is an addition to the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences’ extensive programme variety. Upon completion of this programme, students will not only be equipped to solve challenges in a global business management context, but also to be creative and inspiring leaders in the marketing field.
A successful career in the marketing field requires a solid foundation. Keeping in mind the institution’s annual theme for 2026 – Building blocks for our future – this programme represents core building blocks such as deepening strategic insight, applicable skills and strengthening professional judgement. This programme is offered via the after-hours distance model, which means that students can still occupy themselves in the workplace full time, pursue other interests and are not limited by geographical location – local or international.
More about the programme
The Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management aims to equip students with current marketing management theories, applicable principles, knowledge, skills, and competencies. Along with this, students will also engage themselves in research in the field of marketing management and critically interact with various data formats. The latter research focus will enable them to develop informed marketing strategies.
In order to become leaders in marketing management, students will also be guided in self- and team management, inspirational leadership, critical, innovative thinking, communication, and data literacy. The following modules form part of the programme composition:
An Applied Marketing Research Project
The programme is offered at an NQF level 8, while the minimum duration for the programme is one year, and the maximum allowable time for completion is set at two years.

Upon successful completion of this postgraduate diploma, graduates will be able to distinguish themselves in the workplace, by way of advanced marketing knowledge, management skills, and leadership ability. They will also be able to function well in marketing departments and teams as marketing managers, brand managers, project managers, social media marketing managers as well as business analysts, among others.
The above-mentioned work contexts include small and medium enterprises, marketing agencies, services as well as the hospitality sector.
Completing the programme, with a 65% average, will also enable a student to do a master’s degree with specialisation in marketing or related management fields.
2026 study applications are already awaited and close on 27 February.
