Liana van Rooy has served as registrar of Akademia since 2016. Liana obtained a BCom (Law) degree and an honours degree in Economics from the University of the Free State. She completed her MBA degree (cum laude) at the North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus). Liana started her career in private higher education 12 years ago at the Pearson Institute of Higher Education as lecturer of Economics and Accounting. She later became programme manager at the same institution, where her passion for both administration and planning developed. She expanded her expertise and assumed the position of head of Administration and Systems and was later promoted to registrar.
